The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is seeking two interns for its Human Resources Management Well-Being Unit. One position is based in-person in Geneva, while the other is remote. The internship has an expected duration of six months. The role supports the OHCHR mission of protecting human rights by assisting with the editing and formatting of reports, coordinating with academic partners, and handling the planning, preparation, and logistics for various trainings and events under the supervision of the Head of the Well-Being Unit. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, preferably in communication or a related field, or has recently completed such a degree. The role requires fluency in English, with French being an asset. No prior professional working experience is required. Interns are unpaid, and costs for travel, visas, and accommodation are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution.

Duties and Responsibilities
The interns shall support OHCHR in fulfilling its mission: to work for the protection of all human rights for all people; to help empower people to realize their rights; and to assist those responsible for upholding such rights in ensuring that they are implemented.
Daily responsibilities of Human Resources Management Well-Being Unit interns will depend on the individual's backgrounds, duties may include, but are not limited to, supporting the editing and formatting of reports and contributing to coordination with academic partners. The interns will also assist with the planning, preparation, and logistics of various trainings and events under the supervision of the Head of the Well-Being Unit, as well as any other tasks as required.
There are two intern positions available. One internship in-person in Geneva and a second remote internship.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of communication or a related field, AND, if selected, must commence the internship on the date indicated on the acceptance letter. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For these two internships, fluency in English is required, knowledge of French is an asset. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable (i.e. Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
