Org. Setting and Reporting
The Regional Commissions New York Office (RCNYO) is a joint office for coordination, representation and policy advice at the global level for the five United Nations Regional Commissions, namely the Economic Commission for Africa, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Economic Commission for Europe and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.

Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, under the direct guidance and supervision of the Director of the Regional Commissions New York Office (RCNYO), and with particular focus on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the follow-up to the Summit of the Future, and agreed related sectoral agendas and policy frameworks, the Programme Management Officer will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, relevant to the Regional Commissions, etc.; monitors and analyses programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
- Monitors, analyses and reports on relevant policy debates and decisions in UN global intergovernmental processes;
- Prepares various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, meeting summaries, speeches, . and coordinates inputs from the Regional Commissions to joint reports/initiatives;
- Provides substantive and organizational support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., involving or of interest to the Regional Commissions and follow up on outcomes where appropriate;
- Supports the participation of the Regional Commissions in United Nations system-wide coordination mechanisms and inter-agency processes, including through stakeholder engagement, policy coordination and follow-up on agreed actions;
- Undertakes and supports communication and outreach activities to highlight the work of the Regional Commissions promote regional perspectives in global policy discussions;
- Backstops coordination efforts among the Regional Commissions;
- Upon request, backstops and facilitates interactions of individual regional commissions with permanent missions and departments or entities of the United Nations System.
- Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provides insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in public administration, management, economics or a related field is required. Languages
