The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) New Delhi Biofoundry is issuing a Call for Expressions of Interest to identify researchers, startups, innovators, academic institutions, and industry partners for collaborative biotechnology projects. As India’s first DBT-supported Biofoundry, the initiative aims to accelerate biotech innovation through a fully automated facility. The role is not a traditional employment position but a call for project proposals leveraging AI/ML-guided or rational design approaches. Key focus areas include engineering microbial chassis (such as Escherichia coli and yeast), designing and optimizing industrial proteins and enzymes, integrating computational predictions with experimental validation, and developing next-generation solutions in synthetic biology, biomanufacturing, and industrial biotechnology. The Biofoundry offers access to advanced bioengineering capabilities, automation-enabled workflows, and expert scientific support to translate innovative ideas into impactful outcomes.
