About this role
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a Consultant to conduct a desk study evaluating recovery, recycling, and reclamation (RRR) projects funded by the Multilateral Fund under the Montreal Protocol. The consultant will analyze project documentation, develop an inception paper, synthesize findings, and produce a comprehensive report with executive summary, key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations. The work involves reviewing policy documents, internal Secretariat materials, and evaluation questions from Annex II of UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/95/12. The consultant will work remotely for 2.5 months under the supervision of the Senior Evaluation Officer of the Multilateral Fund. The role requires advanced expertise in evaluation and implementation of Montreal Protocol projects, with a focus on low-GWP alternatives to HCFCs.
Key requirements
- Advanced university degree in economics, environmental and social sciences, environmental engineering, sustainable development, evaluation and/or related fields
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience in evaluation and/or implementation of Montreal Protocol and its Multilateral Fund-related projects and programmes
- Fluency in English
Nice to have
- Experience in design, implementation and/or evaluation of projects with low-GWP alternative technologies to HCFCs
- Knowledge of implementing agencies technical assistance modalities
- Knowledge of functioning of national ozone units
