The Small Grants Programme Assistant supports the National Coordinator in implementing the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme in Mauritius and Seychelles. The role focuses on programme implementation, financial management, and administrative support. Key responsibilities include prescreening project proposals, advising grantees, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with SGP guidelines. The incumbent manages financial aspects such as processing payments, maintaining budgets, and preparing financial reports using the Quantum system. Administrative duties involve procurement, asset management, filing systems, and organizing events. The assistant also supports knowledge management, communication, and visibility efforts, including drafting publications and maintaining databases. The role requires close collaboration with NGOs, government institutions, and donors. The ideal candidate possesses strong administrative and programme experience, with a focus on environmental or development sectors. Proficiency in business administration, accounting, or finance is advantageous. The position demands high attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The incumbent will report to the SGP National Coordinator and work within the UNDP Country Office.
