  • Duty Station: Cairo, Egypt (Regional Office – MENAEERO)

Objective:

The WFP Volunteer will support the regional TEC EPR function in improving emergency preparedness, data circulation, collection, tracking, and coordination with Country Offices. They will work closely under direct supervision to contribute to ongoing initiatives and capacity-building activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Regional TEC EPR Officer, the volunteer will:

  • Support data circulation, collection, tracking, and consolidation related to IT emergency preparedness across the MENAEE region.
  • Assist in preparing reports, dashboard feeds, and tracking sheets (e.g., compliance, risks, readiness status).
  • Contribute to organizing regional activities such as Simulation Exercises (SimEx)
  • Help maintain documentation (guidelines, SOPs, contact lists, inventories)
  • Support coordination with TEC colleagues and Country Offices (follow-ups, updates, basic communication).
  • Assist in research on new IT tools or solutions relevant to emergency response.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for TEC EPR activities.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Updated tracking sheets / basic dashboards
  • Organized documentation repository
  • Support regional activities (e.g., SimEx, Risk & Compliance, awareness session, questionnaire)
  • Short summary reports or inputs as requested

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate (final year) or recent graduate in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, engineering, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft O365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Interest in humanitarian work and emergency response

Language requirements: English is a must.

Supervision & Learning

  • The volunteer will report directly to the Regional TEC EPR Officer

  • The assignment aims to build practical experience in IT emergency preparedness within WFP
