About this role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Wave System Administrative Intern to support the Global Shared Services Centre Wave Support team. Working under the supervision of the National Customer Service Officer and the Wave System Admin Senior User Support Associate, the intern will assist with operational activities related to the Wave system. Key responsibilities include managing production user accounts, troubleshooting issues, handling roles and permissions management for both production and lower environments, and executing system maintenance tasks such as job scheduling, script execution, and database queries. The role is designed for recent graduates in computer science or related fields from accredited universities. The ideal candidate possesses skills in information system administration, Active Directory, Single Sign-On synchronization, SQL, and scripting. While prior internship experience is desirable, it is not mandatory. Fluency in English is required. The position offers a small monthly stipend and occupational accident coverage but requires interns to secure their own medical insurance. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in IT system administration within a humanitarian context.

Description

Working under the overall direction of the National Customer Service Officer and direct supervision of Wave System Admin Senior User Support Associate, the intern will assist with the operational activities of the Global Shared Services Centre Wave Support team. Tasks will include:

Qualifications

Education

  • Recent graduates from an accredited academic institution are eligible to apply. The role is open to graduates in computer science, or related fields.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

  • Prior internship experience is highly desirable, but not required

Notes

Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.

IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
