The Role: This position is located in WFP Jalalabad Area Offices. Job holders work under the direct supervision of the Head of Area Office (or Programme Policy Officer) with a technical reporting line to the Country Office VAME team. The Resilience and Food Systems (RFS) Unit plays a critical role in enhancing climate-adaptive food security and livelihood interventions in Afghanistan. To ensure efficient programme implementation, knowledge management, and coordination, this position will support key operational aspects of data management, programme tracking, financial monitoring, and reporting. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive): 

  • Ensure efficient documentation and knowledge management by maintaining organized records, databases, and key programme information. 
  •  Support systematic data management and reporting to enhance programme visibility and institutional learning. 
  • Monitor programme funding, track expenditures, and ensure resources are utilized effectively in line with donor and programme priorities.  
  • Support budget analysis, grant management, and coordination with relevant teams to strengthen budget oversight and accountability. 
  • Facilitate Resilience programme planning by collecting and consolidating operational updates, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.  
  • Support the review and refinement of implementation plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Support mission planning and coordination by gathering inputs from field teams, maintaining an updated mission schedule, and ensuring timely communication of mission plans.  
  • Coordinate the collection, validation, and consolidation of programme updates for periodic reporting. Ensure timely and accurate submission of key reports, including operational progress, funding updates, and thematic achievements. 
  • Support knowledge-sharing initiatives, learning events, and awareness activities to enhance programme impact and engagement. 
  • Support other areas within Resilience team as required.  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

Education: 

  • Completion of secondary school. Having advanced university degree in Agriculture, Economics, Social Sciences, development economics, or related fields or having First University Degree would be considered an additional advantage.

Experience: 

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience

Language:

  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and local languages (Pashto/Dari).

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Experience in programme tracking, financial monitoring, or knowledge management within humanitarian or development settings. 
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management, use of computer applications and reporting. 
  • Experience working with WFP operational systems, such as SharePoint, PR/PO tracking, and Programme Planning tools (desirable). 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills 
  •  Have proficient knowledge of WFP Programme cycle.  
  • Strong analytical skills. 
  • Strong teamwork and coordination capacities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Good writing and presentation skills.
