In Argentina, UNOPS strengthens public institutions by providing technical assistance in planning, procurement, and oversight of infrastructure projects—particularly in public buildings—and building capacity in public procurement, with a focus on technological innovation. In Brazil, where UNOPS has operated since 2012, the office collaborates with UN agencies, financial institutions, and government bodies at all levels to deliver services in health, education, urbanization, social rehabilitation, PPPs, and institutional strengthening. Eventualmente, candidatos/as que se qualifiquem neste processo, mas não sejam contratados para o projeto acima mencionado, poderão ser considerados para postos similares em futuros projetos do UNOPS.

The Project Management Support Officer provides operational, analytical, and administrative support to ensure the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects, in accordance with UNOPS policies and client/partner requirements.


To this end, this vacancy aims to recruit a Senior Specialist in Municipal Risk Reduction Plans (PMRR) to work within the framework of the International Technical Cooperation Agreement “Risk-Free Periphery: Strategic Actions for Risk and Disaster Mitigation and Prevention for Climate Change Adaptation,” with a focus on supporting actions centered on social participation and non-structural measures. Eventually, candidates who qualify in this process but are not hired for the aforementioned project may be considered for similar positions in future UNOPS projects. 


Functions / Key Results Expected

PT

1. Gestão, análise e elaboração de relatórios de dados

  • Coletar, limpar, estruturar e validar dados de projetos para garantir precisão, consistência e confiabilidade.
  • Manter bancos de dados, painéis de controle e sistemas de gestão de informações para o acompanhamento de projetos em tempo real.
  • Apoiar a elaboração de relatórios analíticos e visuais, resumos e apresentações para partes interessadas internas e externas.
  • Garantir verificações rigorosas da qualidade dos dados e a validação das fontes de dados e ferramentas.


2. Implementação de projetos e apoio operacional

  • Participar na elaboração do plano de trabalho do projeto; 
  • Colaborar na implementação das atividades do projeto em articulação com os parceiros do Governo Federal, municipal, academia, organizações da sociedade civil e setor privado; 
  • Participar na realização de reuniões para a articulação do projeto junto aos parceiros (Governo Federal, municipal, academia, organizações da sociedade civil e setor privado); 
  • Realizar visitas técnicas aos municípios selecionados para a elaboração dos Planos de Redução de Riscos, quando necessário; 
  • Elaborar documentos técnicos como notas técnicas, resumos técnicos, relatórios e apresentações multimídia, sempre que necessário;


3. Coordenação de Compras, Financeira e Administrativa

  • Participar na formulação de termos de referência e/ou especificações técnicas para os serviços de consultoria e para os planos que serão financiados pelo projeto; 
  • Colaborar no monitoramento do andamento das contratações de serviços do projeto e a elaboração dos Planos; 
  • Revisar produtos de consultores, serviços e empresas contratados, conforme observações de atores relevantes, até sua respectiva aprovação;


4. Monitoramento, Avaliação e Apoio à Tomada de Decisões Estratégicas

  • Quaisquer outras atividades dentro da área de atuação profissional correspondente que venham a contribuir com a operacionalização do projeto; 
  • Colaborar no monitoramento para garantia de eficiência, consistência e solidez técnica dos processos de manutenção dos contratos nos prazos pré-determinados, suportando a aferição quanto às especificações técnicas dos serviços contratados.

  • Review deliverables from consultants, service providers, and contractors, in accordance with feedback from relevant stakeholders, until they are approved;


4. Monitoring, Evaluation and Strategic Decision Support

  • Any other activities within the relevant professional field that may contribute to the implementation of the project; 
  • Collaborate in monitoring to ensure the efficiency, consistency, and technical soundness of contract maintenance processes within predetermined deadlines, assisting in the verification of the technical specifications of the contracted services.
