Description

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the direct supervision of the Head of Sub-Office in Majuro, Republic of the Marshall Islands, the incumbent will support the implementation of the Japan-funded Food Security and Livelihoods project. This role will focus on contributing to food security outcomes through close coordination with the Republic of the Marshall Islands Public School System and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Commerce (MoNRC). This shall be accomplished through activities including but not limited to the coordination and delivery of trainings and workshops, support to the procurement and distribution of key food security and livelihood inputs, and assistance with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project interventions at community and institutional levels.

Responsibilities

General Program Support

  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative and operational support for the implementation of food security and livelihoods activities, in line with agreed plans and instructions. 

  • Support communication and coordination with key government counterparts, including the RMI Public School System and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Commerce (MoNRC). 

  • Assist with filing, organizing, and maintaining program documentation in physical files and SharePoint in line with established procedures. 

  • Collect and compile activity information, attendance lists, photographs, and basic data to support donor reporting and internal updates. 

  • Provide general administrative and logistical support to programme implementation, monitoring, and reporting tasks, as assigned.

 

Food Security and Livelihoods Implementation Support

  • Assist in the implementation of food security and livelihoods activities in line with the approved project workplan.

  • Support the collection of basic data and information from activity sites, schools, and partners to inform implementation and reporting.

  • Attend coordination meetings and briefings with partners when requested, and support notetaking and followup on agreed actions.

  • Assist with logistical arrangements for trainings, workshops, and practical demonstrations, including venue setup and participant coordination.

  • Support the delivery of training and community activities by assisting facilitators, preparing materials, and supporting participants.

  • Assist with community outreach and engagement activities related to food production, nutrition, and livelihoods.

 

Procurement and Project Inputs

  • Assist with procurement‑related processes by supporting purchase requests, tracking deliveries, and documenting receipt and distribution of project inputs, in accordance with IOM procedures.

  • Support inventory tracking and record‑keeping for food security and livelihoods goods.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Social Science, Agriculture, Political Science, International Relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant working experience; or 

  • High school diploma with six years working experience.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting school or community‑based development activities, including coordination of materials and supplies. 

  • Experience assisting with food security, nutrition, or livelihoods initiatives in the RMI context. 

  • Experience assisting with training, workshops, or community outreach is preferred. 

  • Working experience gained in an international organization, embassy, or NGO is an advantage.
