The Chief of Service Delivery (D1) leads the Service Delivery pillar within the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), reporting to the Director of Mission Support. This senior executive role is responsible for the overall management of technical and logistical support services, including fleet management, ICT, medical services, construction, and facilities. The incumbent designs strategies for effective service delivery, manages multifunctional support services coordination between UN Headquarters, the Mission, and Regional/Global Service Centres, and ensures compliance with UN regulations. Key duties include workforce planning, budget certification, asset management, and providing technical advice to senior mission leadership. The role requires supervising an integrated civilian, military, and police support organization, developing KPIs, and ensuring gender-sensitive logistical planning. The ideal candidate possesses extensive progressive experience in logistics and technical service delivery, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate in complex, resource-scarce conflict environments. The position is a temporary assignment available until June 13, 2027, potentially limited to internal candidates or those based at the duty station.
