JOB PURPOSE:

To provide support to programme activities in the framework of the implementation of the project Strengthening the local food system to improve food security and nutrition in the eastern provinces, Cuba (WFP), under the supervision of Meylin Pacheco, Program and Policy Officer (Head of Unit) and in close coordination with Placido Ortega, Program and Policy Officer (Food Systems), the programme unit and other relevant units at the Country Office.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Contribute towards the implementation of the project as needed, with the development of a wide variety of plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.

Provide project management support ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures.

Contribute to data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.

Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders, especially project progress reports and any other reports that may be required.

Liaise with different Korean and national counterparts that are related to Korea in the framework of the project implementation, as required, to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects and highlight potential risks to project delivery.

Contribute to systematization of the required processes and results.

Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working.

Support the identification of actors in the Korean business sector to incorporate suppliers to the roster and identify other opportunities for collaboration with them.

Support the identification, development and management of potential proposals for new initiatives, with support from Korea, in support of WFP's work in Cuba, as required.

Support the capacity building of WFP staff and national partners, related to the collaboration mechanisms of the Republic of Korea and its various institutions.

Support visibility actions, in coordination with SEO and the CO COMM unit.

Education:

Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree

Language:

International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English and Spanish languages.
