Description
Under the direction of Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and closure of Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. It drafts agreements and aids in creating country-specific and regional projects and programs by identifying priority areas, developing objectives, activities, and deliverables, setting timelines, and specifying budgetary requirements.
Additionally, under the direction of the CDI Director, the Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts to implement Capacity Development and Implementation projects across various Civil Aviation fields and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Obtain, as soon as possible, aerodrome control rating for selected airport.
Perform tower controller’s duties at airport being rated.
Maintain coordination with military controller, if applicable, and other ATC units.
Provide on-the-job training on approach radar control to nationals who have had basic air traffic control training.
Assess performance of the trainee controllers and recommend, or otherwise, their rating as tower controllers.
Hand over approach radar control duties to nationals who have been rated, while retaining a supervisory role.
Ensure that ATC procedures and instructions at area control centre are up-to-date and in conformity with ICAO requirements, as well as responding to the needs of other users of the airport.
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
