The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is recruiting a Project Coordinator for a 9-month National Project Personnel (NPP) assignment in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. The role supports the 'Strengthening Resilience of Inland Fisheries Affected by the Cyclone' project, aimed at restoring livelihoods for fishers impacted by Cyclone Ditwah. The incumbent will provide day-to-day technical and operational support for fisheries and aquaculture activities, including reservoir restocking, installation of rearing cages and barrier nets, and hatchery operations. Key responsibilities involve coordinating with government agencies (NAQDA), contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation. The coordinator will manage logistics, scheduling, and field missions, support procurement and financial tracking, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. The role requires strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills to deliver results within deadlines. The candidate will work under the supervision of a Project Management Specialist and report to the AFAOR (Programme). Success in this role demands practical experience in fisheries development, community engagement, and field-level project implementation, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel to project sites in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Trincomalee districts.
