Description
Under the direction of Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and closure of Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. It drafts agreements and aids in creating country-specific and regional projects and programs by identifying priority areas, developing objectives, activities, and deliverables, setting timelines, and specifying budgetary requirements.
Additionally, under the direction of the CDI Director, the Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts to implement Capacity Development and Implementation projects across various Civil Aviation fields and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts.
Review reports of studies (including, if necessary, contacts with the authors of such studies) related to future possible locations, with an incidence on the subject, namely, ''Terrestrial fauna'' and "Risk of aircraft collision with birds", the last one being available in English.
Consider statistics of bird strikes occurred in the vicinity of the airport.
Review of reports on related aircraft accidents/incidents and data on associated measures, including contracts with the accident investigation bureau and airport/air navigation authorities.
Give preliminary opinion on the feasibility of developing an effective risk management plan or each potential location and, if possible, give preliminary evaluation of those risks.
Assess the assumed risks of bird strike for the new airport against existing airports with similar conditions, including reference to the effectiveness of the management plans implemented in such comparable airports.
Recommend further studies and data gathering, if necessary.

It should be noted that this is a prospective position intended for experts interested in consultancy contracts. (short and long term)
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
