This position is located in the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) in Turin, Italy. The incumbent will be under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer. For more information on UNICRI, please visit the website: www.unicri.it.
Responsibilities
Within assigned authority, the incumbent will be responsible for administrative assistance in the implementation of projects, particularly:
- Perform a wide range of office support and administrative functions using the United Nations’ Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system, Umoja.
- Monitor the processes and the schedules related to the outputs, tasks, and projects; assist in the verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, and signatures to ensure compliance with relevant financial and budget requirements.
- Generate a variety of standard financial reports, as well as work orders, using various databases.
- Respond or draft responses to routine correspondence and other communications; use standard word processing package to produce a wide variety of large, complex documents and reports.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as reviewing interoffice vouchers (IOVs), maintaining contacts with UNDP, preparing arrangements for meetings and other events, drafting Terms of Reference, preparing allotments and redeployments, managing grants, including preparing and/or processing administrative requests/documents (e.g., requisitions, travel requests, financial authorizations, etc.).
- Maintain files (both paper and electronic) and databases for the work unit.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
- Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

This position is funded from extra-budgetary resources. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year and will be limited to service with UNICRI. Extension of the appointment is subject to extension of the mandate and/or the availability of funds.
