A clearer map of UN-system opportunities
UNlockit turns scattered international-organization career pages into one searchable, saved, and match-aware workspace.
What it is
A daily refreshed index of UN-system roles, enriched with structured fields for location, level, contract type, domains, deadlines, and source links. Every job page links back to the official agency posting, which remains the source of truth.
What makes it different
The product is organized around the applicant workflow: discover relevant roles, save deadlines, upload a CV, then use AI matching and recruiter-style review tools to decide where to spend effort. Hub pages for every UN agency, country, duty station, and domain keep navigation predictable rather than buried behind a faceted search.
What it is not
UNlockit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the United Nations or any UN agency. It does not handle applications or guarantee shortlisting outcomes — official agency career portals remain the source of truth for eligibility, deadlines, and submissions.
FAQ
Methodology & common questions
What sources does UNlockit cover?
UNlockit indexes public vacancies from UN agency career portals across the wider UN system — including the UN Secretariat (Inspira), UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNOPS, WFP, WHO, IOM, UNESCO, UNFPA, ILO, UNEP, UN Women, UNV, OHCHR, OCHA, IAEA, FAO and dozens of specialised agencies, funds, programmes, and partner international organisations. The full coverage list is visible on the Organisations hub at /organizations.
How often is the data refreshed?
Every UN-system source is re-scraped at least once every 24 hours. The most recent re-scrape timestamp appears on each job page, on hub pages, and at the bottom of /llms.txt. Newly published vacancies typically appear within hours of going live on the agency's own career portal.
Is UNlockit affiliated with the United Nations?
No. UNlockit is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the United Nations or any UN agency. Trademarks and agency names referenced on this site belong to their respective owners; the official agency career portal is always the source of truth for eligibility and applications.
Can I apply for a UN job through UNlockit?
No. UNlockit helps you discover, save, compare, and pre-screen UN-system roles, but applications are submitted on the agency's official portal. Every job page links to the agency's apply URL; you'll create an account there, complete the agency's own personal-history form, and submit through their pipeline.
How does the AI matching work?
UNlockit extracts structured fields from your CV (skills, experience, education, languages, domain preferences) and compares them with each open role on four axes: semantic embedding similarity, keyword overlap, skill overlap, and domain overlap. Each axis has a weight; the four are combined into one normalised match score. Deep Review separately runs an LLM read of the full role against your CV in recruiter mode — it returns a verdict, gap list, and strength list.
What data do I need to upload to use UNlockit?
Browsing roles, hub pages, and guides requires no account. To save jobs, get email digests, and unlock AI matching, create a free account with email + password. To use AI Match and Deep Review, upload a CV (PDF or DOCX). The original file auto-deletes after seven days; structured fields extracted by the AI are kept so matching keeps working until you delete them.
What does UNlockit do with my CV?
Your CV is processed for skill, experience, education, language, and domain extraction. The original file is removed after the configured retention window (seven days by default). Extracted structured fields stay on your profile until you delete the profile or account. The CV file is not shared with third parties beyond the LLM provider used for extraction and matching.
Why are some job descriptions hidden behind sign-in?
Each public job page shows a normalised summary, key requirements, posting source, deadline, duty station, and a direct link to the official agency posting. The full description body is behind a free sign-in so we can keep the catalogue refreshing without abusive scraping. The official agency page remains accessible without an account.
Is UNlockit free?
Yes — the daily-refreshed UN job feed, hub pages, guides, saved jobs, email deadline reminders, and AI Match scoring are all free. A paid Pro plan unlocks unlimited Deep Reviews, the per-job AI chatbot, and curated email digests. Pricing details are on the Pricing page.
How can I report a missing source, broken link, or correction?
Use the Submit Source page from the account menu to suggest a new UN-system source for indexing, or email the support address in the site footer for corrections to specific listings.
