UNICEF is seeking a Consultant for Early Childhood Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Strategy based in Quito, Ecuador, on a remote basis for a seven-month contract. The role focuses on designing a methodology for social and behavioral change to promote sustainable practices and environments for early childhood development. Key responsibilities include identifying behavioral determinants and social barriers, designing a pilot implementation plan in coordination with relevant entities, and evaluating the process through technical and participatory analysis to optimize the methodology for scaling. The ideal candidate possesses a background in social/behavioral sciences or related fields, with at least five years of professional experience in designing and implementing SBC strategies, development communication, or related campaigns in health, social inclusion, or early childhood sectors. The role requires advanced proficiency in Spanish and English, along with demonstrable experience in evidence generation, analysis, and the use of data for decision-making in SBC interventions. Experience working with public entities, international organizations, or UN agencies is required, as is expertise in facilitating participatory processes and training technical teams. A PhD in relevant fields is desirable but not mandatory.
