JOB PURPOSE:            

To handle receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities in order to maximise quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines. Support retail warehouse operation though regular monitoring visit. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive): 

Under the overall supervision of a logistics associate, and/or his/her designated, the storekeeper will undertake the following duties.

1.    Effectively receive/dispatch commodities including transhipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards. 
2.    Prepare, verify and sign off warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.  
3.    Conduct daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks supporting internal control systems in compliance with the warehouse management requirements.  
4.    Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled, detect promptly and analyse reasons for stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantity and prepare warehouse loss reports recommending appropriate solutions, to enable informed decision-making. 
5.    Implement appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor. 
6.    Keep the warehouse commodity movement updated records on stock register / stack cards, and in WFP Corporate Systems LESS
7.    Assist in conducting monthly/quarterly physical inventories.
8.    Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions, to support efficient warehouse space-planning and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards. 
9.    Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff including causal labours to contribute to their development and high performance.  
10.    Ensure good warehousing practices including cleanliness and pest-free storing conditions. 
11.    Report on and, in consultation relevant authority, take appropriate action for the disposal of spoilt commodities.
12.    Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including C&F agents, government authorities, transporters, cooperating and retail partners, to support logistics and retail operations and enhance service delivery.
13.    Prepare daily warehouse stocks movement reports and shared with relevant staffs.
14.    Visit and monitor retail partner warehouses, CP warehouses to monitor the food quality, to assist them to manage their warehouse following the standards and provide hands on training on job training for their capacity building. 
15.    Any other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Education: Completion of Bachelor's degree is required. Education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Social Science or any other relevant field is preferable.
Experience: At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the relevant field including at least two years in the field of commodity handling /warehousing.
Language: Fluency in spoken and written in both English and Bangla language.
