Duties and Responsibilities

The Resident Coordinator (RC) system encompasses all organizations of the United Nations system dealing with operational activities for development, regardless of their formal presence in the country. The RC system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. The UN supported Government of Pakistan in its determined political will towards expeditiously prioritizing and adopting SDGs within national and local level priorities under the United Nations Sustainable Development Country Framework for Pakistan (UNSDCF).The UNSDCF planned results focus on five key outcome areas that respond to Pakistan’s development priorities and harness the powerful force of the United Nations’ comparative advantage in these areas. These were identified through an intensive consultation process with national and provincial authorities, alongside other implementing partners and stakeholders in the country. These key outcomes and their anticipated results serve as a framework for taking stock of progress, and of the effectiveness of the collaborative work carried out by the United Nations and the Government of Pakistan. They are expected to provide the people of Pakistan with a fuller range of choices and opportunities, promoting their human development and – in the words of Agenda 2030 – helping them to fulfil “their potential in dignity, equality and in a healthy environment.” Duties and Responsibilities The UNSDCF Coordination Officer (Consultant) will work under the supervision of the Head of RCO/Senior Strategic Planner and submit monthly progress reports detailing activities and achievements. The Consultant will support the coordination and progress reviews of the five UNSDCF Outcome Groups. Key responsibilities include: • Serve as the focal point for all five outcome groups, facilitating meetings, maintaining member lists, preparing agendas, and recording minutes. • Prepare the consolidated progress reports, technical briefs, and meeting notes as required. • Coordinate between Outcome Groups and other forums, including the Programme Management Team (PMT) and the Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Group (PME). • Integrate digital and innovative tools into outcome area coordination, enhancing efficiency and impact. • Collaborate with provincial-level stakeholders (Provincial Programme Teams) to support alignment with national priorities. • Assist in reviewing and consolidating monitoring frameworks for UNSDCF implementation. • Prepare progress reports, technical briefs, and meeting notes as required. • Participate in stakeholder consultations and focus group discussions, ensuring inclusivity in planning and implementation processes. • Support efforts to address data gaps, ensuring disaggregated and inclusive data is used for planning and monitoring. • Assist in preparing and consolidating the inputs for the UNCT Annual Results Report 2024. • Assist in preparing inputs for the Common Country Analysis (CCA) and UNSDCF assessments. • Coordinate and support youth-focused initiatives across UN agencies, ensuring effective collaboration, information-sharing, and alignment of youth-related priorities at the country level. • Organize and lead quarterly Youth Group meetings, providing full secretariat support including agenda setting, coordination with agencies, documentation, and follow-up on agreed actions. • Lead the Youth Scorecard process and manage data entry in the UNSDG Information Management System (IMS), ensuring timely, accurate reporting and contributing to strengthened inter-agency coherence on youth engagement. • Establish and develop Youth working group • Develop a work plan for Youth working group identify short term and long term goals •Prepare a report how Youth can be integrated in UN Pakistan
