About this role
The United Nations Office at Geneva is offering an unpaid internship in the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) for a duration of 2 to 6 months. The internship is available both in-person and remotely, with a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. Interns will support review teams and fulfill ad hoc demands of the Unit, gaining hands-on experience in oversight and evaluation at the UN. The JIU is the only independent external oversight body of the UN system, conducting evaluations, inspections, and investigations to enhance management efficiency and coordination among UN agencies. Interns will work alongside Inspector(s), Evaluation and Inspection Officer(s), and Research Assistants. The role requires strong research and analytical skills, clear written communication in English, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The internship provides an opportunity to engage with UN processes and contribute to the identification of best practices and benchmarks across participating organizations.
