Description
The ICT team plays a crucial role in the UNDP UG CO as reliance on digital technology continues to increase in all our operations, projects, and programme deliveries. The team drives the CO's digital transformation efforts to better enable, leverage, and deploy technology solutions that help the CO implement new ways of working—smarter and more efficiently—to improve value to UNDP partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
The Intern will report to the ICT Associate and work closely with programme and operations and will have dotted reporting to Team leader – IGI.
The ICT Intern will support the execution of ICT services in the CO and provide day-to-day technical assistance to users. The intern will also contribute to digital transformation initiatives, particularly automation, document digitization, and migration to modern platforms.
The purpose of this internship is to support the Country Office in advancing digital transformation initiatives, including process automation, data digitization, responsible AI exploration, digital tools adoption, and capacity building. The Intern will contribute analytical, technical, and coordination support while gaining practical exposure to digital transformation projects in a development and organizational context.

Provide first-line daily IT support to end users.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and account access issues.

Support installation and configuration of computers, printers, mobile devices, and licensed software.

Provide technical support for both onsite and virtual events, including setting up cameras, audio systems, display screens, and supporting online platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams etc.

Assist in maintaining ICT asset records, ensuring proper tagging and tracking

Support efficient network administration, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN troubleshooting.

Assist in monitoring network performance and reporting connectivity issues.

Support diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair of ICT equipment (computers, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, UPS).

Assist in vendor coordination for equipment under warranty.

Provide support for mobile devices in line with BYOD policies.

Support ongoing automation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.

Assist in digitizing physical documents and migrating content into SharePoint and other modern platforms.

Collaborate with teams to identify automation needs and digital workflow improvements.

Support training/orientation sessions for staff on ICT systems and tools including the latest and emerging technologies like AI.

Support pilot initiatives involving AI, automation, or data analytics under close supervision

Assist in preparing concept notes, briefs, and presentations on AI and digital innovation opportunities.

Support planning, coordination, and tracking of digital transformation initiatives and projects.
IT skills:
- Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of the latest and emerging technologies such as AI, Robotics etc is added advantage

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

Internship Conditions
- UNDP will not pay interns for internship but will provide a stipend in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP internship policy; all other expenses connected with it will be borne by me or my sponsoring Government or institution;
- UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
- Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
- Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship;
- Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan;
- Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity;
- Interns are expected to work full time but flexibility is allowed for education programmes;
