Key responsibilities involve coordinating with government agencies (NAQDA), contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation. The coordinator will manage logistics, scheduling, and field missions, support procurement and financial tracking, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. The role requires strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills to deliver results within deadlines. The candidate will work under the supervision of a Project Management Specialist and report to the AFAOR (Programme). Success in this role demands practical experience in fisheries development, community engagement, and field-level project implementation, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to travel to project sites in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Trincomalee districts.

National Engineer

The role focuses on the refurbishment and upgrading of laboratory facilities to meet biosafety standards (ABSL-I/ABSL-II). The incumbent will provide engineering, procurement, and contract administration support, including construction supervision, technical evaluation of bids, quality assurance, and payment certification. Key responsibilities involve reviewing designs, specifications, and contractor work programs; conducting site visits to assess compliance with safety and technical standards; and preparing technical reports and documentation. The engineer must ensure adherence to approved designs, biosafety requirements, and national regulations. The position requires close coordination with the FAO Country Office, technical teams, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a university degree in a relevant engineering or construction discipline and at least eight years of professional experience, including three years in laboratory or healthcare facility upgrades. Strong technical skills in MEP systems, contract administration, and bid evaluation are essential. Fluency in English is required, with Sinhala/Tamil as an asset. The candidate must be a Sri Lankan national or resident with valid work authorization. This is a short-term contract role lasting 90 days.
