The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a Data & Analytics Officer to join its Protection Working Unit in Kyiv. The primary objective of this role is to support and monitor key data management processes to facilitate evidence-based decision-making. The incumbent will drive continuous improvements across data entry, quality assurance, technical support, and advanced analytics. Key responsibilities include managing and maintaining data within the CRM system, performing comprehensive quality checks on large volumes of data, and analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement. The officer will utilize advanced Excel functions and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation. The role requires collaboration with various teams to resolve data discrepancies and improve workflows. The ideal candidate possesses Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence, a university degree, and professional fluency in English and Ukrainian. They should have 3–5 years of overall professional experience, including at least 2 years in analysis, GIS, or data management, along with proficiency in BI tools, SQL, and statistical packages. ABOUT THE JOB

The ICRC Protection Working Unit seeks a competent Data & Analytics Officer to join our team in Kyiv. In this role, you will support and monitor key data management processes to enable evidence-based decision-making. You will drive continuous improvements across data entry, quality assurance, technical support, and advanced analytics.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain data within the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely updates of records
  • Perform comprehensive quality checks on large volumes of data, including reviewing, validating, and identifying inconsistencies, trends, and patterns to support data integrity and operational decision-making
  • Analyze complex datasets to detect recurring issues, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., Power Query, pivot tables, complex formulas) to process, clean, and structure large datasets efficiently
  • Apply SQL (Structured Query Language) queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and bulk updates within databases
  • Execute mass data uploads, corrections, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with established data management procedures
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve data discrepancies and improve data collection and processing workflows
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management processes, tools, and quality standards

ABOUT YOU

To be successful as Data & Analytics Officer in the Protection Work Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experience and have the following characteristics: 

  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of BI, SQL, statistical packages, Tableau
  • Typically, 3–5 years’ overall professional experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar field (Analysis & Evidence, Geographic Information Systems, Data Management, etc.)
  • Professional fluency (written and spoken) in English and Ukrainian
  • Computer literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact effectively with data users, managers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to understand new business processes and their interplay with software and organizational structure
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
