This role sits within the Creative Communications & Design team and is UN Global Pulse’s dedicated practice for rethinking communication as infrastructure for innovation. We view communication not as an afterthought, but as the connective tissue that shapes how ideas emerge, gain legitimacy and scale through alignment and trust.
As UN Global Pulse strengthens its role as the Secretary-General’s Innovation Lab, it seeks to invest in expanded multimedia and visual design capacity to support the network's growing needs. This investment will enable stronger visibility, reach and impact for UN Global Pulse’s work and that of its partners across key audiences and platforms.
UNOPS has signed an agreement with the United Nations to implement the project activities for UN Global Pulse.
The incumbent of the position will be personnel of UNOPS under its full responsibility.
Role Purpose
To achieve its goals, UN Global Pulse is seeking a Communications Intern (Multimedia Design) to enhance its communication effectiveness and deepen the impact and reach of its digital presence.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Support the production of motion graphics, animations, and GIFs for digital platforms and presentations;
Design and develop infographics, data visualizations, and interactive graphics that bring complex information to life;
Support the creation and editing of visual assets for social media, including static and dynamic graphics;
Support the production of graphic templates for presentations, publications and recurring content formats;
Support the development of multimedia storytelling formats, including illustrated explainers, videos and animated narratives;
Assist in maintaining an organized archive of multimedia assets, templates and finished works;
Collaborate on in-house creative reviews and contribute ideas across all stages of the production process.

Required:
Applicants must be pursuing an advanced university degree, such as a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program (or equivalent)., or be a recent graduate from such studies (within the last 3 years).
To be eligible for this particular internship, the candidate should have studied or be studying towards a university degree, preferably in multimedia, graphic design, art, visual storytelling or related fields.
