Duties and Responsibilities

Specific Outputs/Tasks include but not limited to: · Supports the technical handover of unrwa systems infrastructure built on Azure cloud app services, Kubernetes, Azure SQL · Performs application systems administration tasks including MS SQL server database software, software patch management, software upgrades. · Conducts necessary systems health and performance monitoring checks ensuring optimal functionality and risk mitigation. · Provides maintenance and monitoring works, ensuring system availability, efficient performance, and resource optimization. · prepares and presents technical reports on application performance, operational issues, and risk mitigation actions. · Keeps up-to-date documentations of system inventory, client configuration and connectivity instructions, backup/restore instructions, and applicable disaster recovery instructions. · Proactively identify and mitigate operational and security risks, contributing to business continuity and reliable service delivery during and after the transition period · Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and user manuals. · Participate in agile ceremonies and provide regular progress updates. · Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications/special skills

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, information technology, electrical/computer engineering or other related discipline. Minimum of 2 years progressively responsible experience in Azure or Cloud infrastructure and systems administration. Nature of required experience: · Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure including MS Windows Server Operating System and MS SQL database software & administration · Preferred experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) · Preferred experience with DevOps · Familiarity with networking concepts and observability tools

Languages

English and Arabic are the working languages of UNRWA. For this assignment, fluency in both Arabic and English are required.

Additional Information

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE • The selected candidate will be based in UNRWA HQA Amman - Jordan. • The selected candidate must be a local citizen in the country of assignment. • The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration that is equivalent to the UNRWA local salary scale of grade 12 Step 1 amounting to JD845.00 for every fully completed month. • The duration of the Contract is up to 12 months, and the possibility of extension is subject to the availability of funds and continuing need and satisfactory performance. • The selected candidate will report to the Senior Technical Lead.
