National Private Sector Engagement Officer

The National Private Sector Engagement Officer supports strategic engagement with private sector actors in Hong Kong SAR to mobilize flexible funding and foster responsible business practices. Reporting to the Chief of Mission in Beijing with technical oversight from Headquarters, the role involves implementing the IOM Global Private Sector Strategy through targeted outreach, relationship management, and stewardship of partners. Key responsibilities include identifying and mapping new private sector prospects, designing fundraising strategies, and maintaining donor databases. The incumbent will strengthen cross-thematic engagement on issues such as climate change, regular migration pathways, and emergencies, while providing technical guidance on supply chain due diligence and ethical recruitment. The role requires preparing high-quality proposals, concept notes, and partnership materials, and participating in strategic engagement platforms. It also involves monitoring KPIs for partnership development and fundraising, collaborating with teams in Beijing and Headquarters on donor reports and communications, and supporting regional PSP efforts in Asia-Pacific. The ideal candidate possesses a Master’s degree with five years of experience or a Bachelor’s with seven years, along with a proven track record in private sector partnership development, resource mobilization, and corporate social responsibility within the Hong Kong and mainland China context. Fluency in Chinese/Cantonese and English is mandatory, with working knowledge of another UN language preferred.
