The Infrastructure Advisor serves as a senior technical expert within the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) South Asia Multi-Country Office, based in Colombo. The role focuses on providing high-level technical advice and quality assurance for infrastructure projects across the region, including Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Key responsibilities include guiding the design development process, preparing technical specifications and bidding documents, and ensuring compliance with UNOPS Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems. The advisor supports programme managers in project implementation, bid evaluation, and the management of consultancy firms. Additionally, the position involves strategic partnerships development, representing UNOPS at regional forums, and contributing to proposal development. The role also emphasizes knowledge sharing, disseminating best practices, and developing guidance materials. The ideal candidate possesses extensive progressive experience in senior engineering, architecture, or construction management roles, with a strong background in international development environments, particularly in Asia. The position requires a Master’s degree with 7 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 9 years, alongside fluency in English. This is a 12-month retainer contract offering exposure to high-profile projects and cross-cultural collaboration.
