Senior Project Associate

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to support the implementation of Immigration and Border Governance projects in Astana, Kazakhstan. Reporting to the National Programme Officer and under the Chief of Mission, the role involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of project activities, including budget implementation and administrative liaison. The incumbent will compile and analyze data, draft reports and briefing notes, and organize workshops and training sessions. Key responsibilities include maintaining effective liaison with local authorities, UN agencies, donors, and other stakeholders, as well as monitoring the work of implementing partners. The candidate will also contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and concept papers, and may provide guidance to other staff. The ideal candidate possesses a Master’s degree with two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience. They must have proven experience liaising with governmental and international institutions, working with vulnerable migrant populations, and knowledge of UN programming and financial regulations. Fluency in English is required, with Kazakh and Russian desirable. The role demands strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills within a multicultural setting.
