The Political Affairs Officer (P4) supports the UN Representative to the Geneva International Discussions (UNRGID) in Geneva. Key responsibilities include providing substantive advice on UN engagement and the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM), monitoring political and security developments in the region, and producing analytical reports and briefing materials. The role involves coordinating official rounds of the Geneva International Discussions with EU and OSCE counterparts, organizing high-level visits, and maintaining liaison with local and international actors. The officer serves as a focal point for cross-cutting policy issues and supports budget submissions. The ideal candidate possesses advanced knowledge of political developments relevant to the Geneva Discussions, strong analytical and communication skills, and extensive experience in conflict analysis, political outreach, and coordination within conflict or post-conflict settings. Specific expertise in peace and security matters in Eastern Europe, particularly the South Caucasus, is required.
